Mentor-Protg Program Overview

The Department of Defense established the DoD Mentor-Protg Program via 101-510, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1991 (10 U.S.C. 2302 note). The program has been extended through 2010 for new agreements. Mentor-Protg programs provide incentives for DoD contractors to assist small businesses in enhancing their capabilities and to increase participation of such firms in Government and commercial contracts.

Fairfield Technologies Inc. views Mentor-Protg arrangements as strategic partnerships in which all parties, the mentor, the protg (and the Federal authorizing agency) achieve a "win-win-win" objective. FTI currently has formal Mentor-Protg agreements with the Raytheon Company and Dynamics Research Corporation (DRC).
